Responsible Gaming Week 2019

Between the 7th and the 13th of November 2019, the gaming industry in Malta will be hosting an edition of Responsible Gaming Week in Malta. This campaign, held in collaboration with The MGA, iGEN, leading operators, Bournemouth University  and the Responsible Gambling Week held in the UK, is aimed at highlighting the importance of ensuring that gambling remains a sustainable means of entertainment, where gambling operators provide their players with all the tools to gamble in a safe and responsible manner.

Throughout this week, operators will host daily sessions in their various offices in order to share best practices, and to discuss ways in which they may collaborate together to further improve their efforts on this front. The topics will include research in responsible gambling communications with at-risk consumers, suicide awareness and prevention training, and the provision of responsible gambling staff training.

The MGA is supporting this initiative and will be hosting the final session of the week at its premises. Yanica Sant, the MGA’s Senior Counsel for Legal, International Affairs and Policy, said that, “The MGA is pleased to see its licensees taking proactive measures to improve their responsible gambling and player protection efforts. The MGA wants such efforts to remain at the core of the gambling service and in the design of every product. We are looking forward to hosting the final session here at our offices, and to sit at the table with operators and discuss ways in which we, as the regulator, can further support the industry to provide a sustainable, fair and safe gambling service.”

iGEN is an association of leading iGaming companies based in Malta and operating in European and international markets. Our mission is to give the industry a common voice and to drive positive change in the environments we operate in.
